In the transitional seasons, choosing a conditions-appropriate cycling glove can be an exercise in frustration and second-guessing. We’ll be the first to admit that we’ve cut rides short due to frozen fingers, but we also prefer to not wear neoprene armor when it isn’t necessary. For cooler days that don’t quite justify equipment born from ski and scuba technology but still warrant something more than bare skin, we indecisive cyclists have been blessed with Castelli’s Nano XT Gloves. Neither winter riding gloves nor summer gloves, the Nano XTs fill that frustrating niche of mid-range temperature conditions. The Nano XTs’ lightweight construction is designed to keep your mitts comfortable in the 50 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit range while affording water protection equal to the challenge of a drizzle, but not a deluge. The palms exhibit equivalent restraint, offering cover from the elements while minimizing hand-to-shifter interference. The gloves’ elongated wrists, made of the same water and wind resistant material as the back of the hand, stretch to get on and off easily but still stay snug on your lower forearm. Reflective graphics help you remain visible to motorists in low-light conditions. The Castelli Nano XT Gloves – Men’s are available in sizes ranging from X-Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black, White, and Yellow Fluo.
