To ride glove-free is a powerful statement as to your riding skills and style, but it says different things depending on the venue. Some do it in cyclocross because they like the increased feel. Some do it for the cobbled classics because they want the feedback for motivation. Some do it because they don’t want to feel weighted down when they climb. And some just don’t like gloves because it’s more clothing than they like to have on. Giordana made their Targa Gloves for all of these people. This is a minimalist glove, both front and back. The palm has light padding running from the thumb through the base to the heel of the hand. There is an extra panel of material across the base of the fingers for a little bit of shock absorption, and a triangular mesh panel between the low padding and high reinforcement lets your hand breathe. At the base, a rubberized pull tab helps tug this mitt on.On the back of the hand there is Lyrca and mesh, while stretch panels and elastic at the cuff hold the glove in place. The thumb is wrapped with a synthetic terry cloth for nose wiping; for safety, there’s a scalloped reflective panel in the middle of the hand. The Giordana Targa Gloves come in Black and White. Sizes run from Small through XLarge.
